The CR-Z stands for “Compact Renaissance Zero” - a phrase intended to capture the idea of a renaissance in the design of compact cars starting again from fundamentals. Designed to be dynamic and futuristic, the CR-Z combines powerful performance in a compact form with a futuristic image.
Strictly a concept for now, but believed to point the way for future production models, the CR-Z follows in the tire prints of the Honda Concept Remix (See seen in LA last year) and the Small Hybrid Sports Concept (debuts at Geneva in March). The CR-Z features the latest Honda IMA hybrid powertrain to provide emission reduction and economic improvements.

Inside, the aim was to give the concept of the car light, spacious and refined feel. The CR-Z’s hi-tech has a blue interior, neon-type finish through the main dash and centre console. Mesh equipment on a simple framework is used throughout, with sport seats to help the driver during cornering.
In the cockpit, the meter unit image of a technologically advanced in the darkness of a piece of glass art, offering recognition and a quick look futuristic and exciting.
The CR-Z concept vehicle made its debut at the 40th World Motor Show in Tokyo in November 2007 and indicates the leadership style for a second, new hybrid vehicles to be presented by Honda. Another future of hybrid vehicles, designed to meet the needs of a family and priced below the Civic Hybrid, is scheduled for introduction in 2009.
