Infiniti February 29th, 2008

Designed from the outset as a thoroughbred sports, the Infiniti G37 coupe offers spectacular performance in a thoroughly attractive. While sharing much of the material with the G37, the Coupe is designed to respond to another buyer. The dynamic style coupled with the performance of its obvious potential will appeal to those who appreciate the success of beautiful design and driving enjoyment. They are not inclined to follow the herd… and they could not even drive a cut today.
“The typical buyer of a G37 Coupe will be a little younger than the four-door buyers, but no less discerning. He or she will be someone who appreciates quality, but wants to make a greater statement , “says Jim Wright, vice president, Infiniti Europe.” G37 Coupe buyer could be a cut driver, but it is equally likely to own a property or a sport compact SUV. “
When he’s not in a G37 Coupe, it will find the style exterior has a refined interior. And when he starts the engine, it is a true performance car, which offers what it promises. “The G37 Coupe takes the best attributes of the four doors, and adds even more. It is a car designed to appeal to emotion, but one that offers a practical level, too,” said Bastien Schupp, Director of Marketing, Infiniti Europe.
Although closely linked to the new Infiniti G37, G37 coupe is much more than a two-door version of the sedan. Although it shares the same 2850mm wheelbase - which ensures its rear seats are more than occasional perches - the Coupe is more than 100 mm shorter than the sedan to give it a real cut proportions and do not share an organ single panel.
The G37 coupe is powered by the 3.7-litre version of the VQ family of gasoline engines. Drive is taken to the wheels through a slick six-speed manual or an advanced seven-speed automatic transmission. Suspension layout - double wishbones in front and a multi-link rear - provides strong and agile handling allied with superb ride comfort. Without shame with a focus on performance, it is essential that Infiniti G37 Coupe dynamic behaviour can match or better the opposition.
To ensure that it can handle the higher speeds in Europe, a dedicated team of engineers working Infiniti Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) have fine-tuned the suspension, steering, brakes and aerodynamics to adapt to conditions . To promote easy and trackability feel secure, exceptionally high-speed stability has been a central point and the accuracy of braking and steering.
Add generous equipment levels and a range of technically advanced options such as four-wheel Active Steer (4WAS) and the G37 Coupe can be written as something special, a real alternative to the establishment.
High levels of passive safety is a priority in the design stage. Accordingly, the G37 coupe has a full complement of six airbags, sensors seatbelts and occupancy sensor passenger seats. The front seats incorporate hip and chest bags, while there are front to rear curtain airbags for protection in a side impact. Standard is also a pop-up bonnet, designed to offer greater protection against accidents for pedestrians. In the event of a collision, a small pyrotechnic raises the trailing edge of the hood, near the lower edge of the windshield. This creates a larger buffer between the hood and the top of the engine, giving a yield of more than surface, which, in turn, helps reduce the risk of injury.
“G37 Coupe is built according to the same rigorous standards as the G37 and excellent dynamic qualities, the levels of equipment and refinement. Thanks to his own style, it offers a real alternative and exciting in the segment, “says Nicolas Tschann, Product Manager, Infiniti Europe.
