At the international Geneva Motor Show, Opel introduced a concept-car Meriva, which marks a new level of operational flexibility. On both sides of the car fitted with a rear side door hinges at the rear edge of a title FlexDoors. Unlike traditional front doors, on which hinges are on the edge of the front and rear doors open in the direction the rear of the car. Another feature of the new Opel Meriva-based family trips - that the front and rear doors can be opened independently of each other. Rear doors in the same location of the rear hinge presented on the market today, as a rule, can be opened only after the front doors are open. This greatly reduces their practicality.

Embarkation and disembarkation from the car through the rear doors became easier because the doors are opened at an angle of up to 90 degrees, forming a wider opening than the standard car door. Thanks to a raised roof line Meriva during landing and rear passengers disembarking also appreciate the high ceiling. Easier access to salon / luggage separation, so, for example, your suitcase behind the front seats would require much less effort.
