Hyundai Develops a 310-strong V6 for Genesis Coupe

Korean automaker Hyundai announced the development of new high performance engine for the Genesis Coupe, which will be available on the U. S. market in spring 2009. The unit based on V6, submitted an additional four years ago.
The U. S. model is offered with a 310-strong version of the engine developing up to 360 Nm in a pair of 6-gear Mechanical or Automatic transmission. The name of the engine appeared prefix «RS» (Rear wheel drive Sports), indicating a series of changes that distinguish it from the predecessor, 3.8-liter Lambda power of 290 hp The new engine has more torque across the speed range and a maximum rate at 4700 rpm. Because of the low bonnet engineers had to make Lambda 5 cm below and re-develop injection systems and exit exhaust.
Alternatively Genesis Coupe can be equipped with 2.0-liter Four-cylinder 223 hp engine.
