Ford intends to expand the range of pickup Ford F-150 modifications through the release SVT Raptor, designed for offroad trips fans. New Ford will be presented on Tuesday at SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas.
Outwardly changed SVT Raptor from the usual pickup F-150 has more aggressive design of the body front: another radiator grille and front bumper, another hood with additional ventilation slots, original side-step, big wheels with BFGoodrich tires and side vent-holes with the “SVT” logo.
For this pickup modification SVT professionals had to expand the car track about 18 centimeters, completely change and enhance the front suspension, which compared with routine F-150 significantly increased moves to establish differential with electronic control system and assistance in descending from the slope. In addition, SVT Raptor has received a special offroad mode, which modifies the response to the gas pedal and makes transmission hold longer each gear. This mode is activated by pressing a button in the cabin.
Under machine’s hood is installed 5.4 L gasoline V8 with 320hp(528 Nm), working in pairs with an automatic transmission. As Ford representatives noted, later to SVT Raptor will also be offered and more powerful 6.2 L V8.
Ford F-150 will be issued on Michigan plant. Car cost has not been announced yet.
